, you'll find information here about my latest book Bad Behaviour, the other four novels and some of my non-fction books. Bad Behaviour seems to have hit the spot for many readers and I'm so grateful for your letters, cards and emails.
I'm currently working on another novel which I hope will be on the shelves early next year - so I'd better hurry up and finish it. Meanwhile do join the blog - I'd love to hear your views on the current obsession with looking young, and particularly all the ways that women are encouraged to think that there is something wrong with getting older and looking the age we are. I've written about it in the latest blog post. I look forward to hearing what you have to say so please do join me and see if we can get a conversation going on the blog.
Many people in their 20s, 30s and 40s are writing to tell me that they enjoy the books and that reading about older people with interesting lives makes them feel better about the prospect of getting old. There is so much fear and distate about ageing in popular culture, and such a strong focus on youth that it's easy to lose sight of the fact that for many people this is the best time of their lives. We are an ageing population and old age will happen to all of us lucky enough to live that long. I think we need to celebrate the pleasures and rewards of getting older and avoid getting caught up in the negativity. So I'll be writing about the joys, difficulties, rewards and challenges of ageing for as long as I can.
